Friendship Bread
A neighbor gave me a starter bag and directions for making friendship bread a few weeks ago. I thought the whole process was a little strange, especially since you don't refrigerate the batter even after you add milk to it. But it turned out fine and both my husband and dad really liked it, so I'm going to continue making it. And my mom too.
We've been making it with half oil/half applesauce, but I think next time we're going to try all oil. The neighbor gave us a couple of small loaves of the bread that she made last week, and I think her bread tasted better than ours. Not sure what the difference was, but the oil/applesauce mix is the only variable that changes (other than the vanilla, lemon, or chocolate pudding). I'm starting to run out of people to give a starter bag to... any takers? lol
